Explanation writing. What causes an earthquake DLO 🌏
We were learning about explanation writing and what it is. Explanation writing is when you explain to someone why or how something happens. We got to pick what question we wanted to answer from a lot of options and I wanted to find out why what causes an earthquake. First we had to do some research notes on google. I found some information on how earthquakes happen and why. Second, we had to plan on what the purpose the main body and our conclusion. Next we had to make a diagram about our question on google drawings. It was quite hard because we had to make it from scratch. Lastly was the writing part which took a while. We had to include 3-5 or even more sentences in one paragraph and technical words.
I found it easy to research for my information on google and put it into my own sentences. Another thing I found easy was to create all the shapes on google drawings and add them onto my diagram and onto my DLO (Digital learning object). It was a bit challenging at first but once I new what i wanted it to look like it got much easier. To help me make the shapes, I had looked at images of it so I had an idea of what to make it look like.
I found it challenging to figure out what to say to add audio onto my slides. I thought instead of me just reading the paragraph out I would try to sum up each part in my audio. When you sum up something, you add all the important parts into one sentence and make it smaller. Another challenging thing to do was finding out what words I should've made red as a technical word. Technical words are words that relate to the topic that you choose. Eg, For earthquake some of my technical words were: Tectonic plates, Shaking and heat.
I really enjoyed doing this because I thought it was so interesting learning about how earthquakes happen and how they're caused. I also thought it would be cool to learn about earthquakes because my parents were teaching me a bit about them too me when I was young. Even in year 2 I remember Mrs Thomas teaching us about earthquakes and how they were caused. Because of this I wanted to extend my knowledge on earthquakes and learn more about them.
I was learning how to be a researcher. To be a researcher I had to organise data/ information I gather and choose the right source for the information I needed. The other thing I needed to do was to formulate questions to help me find out.
Next time I might make my audio sounds more longer and detailed so my reader or listener can learn more about what i'm saying. Also next time I might try and put more work into my drawings so people can understand more what they're supposed to look like. The last thing I might do next time is pick a question I haven't learnt that much about so I can learn more new things while researching.

Spain DLO 🇪🇸
In term 4 week 1 Room 9 and 10 got a surprise parcel and know one knew what it was about. When we opened it, inside there were different letters from kids all across the world. In buddies we each got a letter and read it. We learnt about what they eat, wear, and do after, during and before school. Then the teachers decided in our buddies we were going to make a DLO (Digital learning object) about that country. We had to include the flag, The country and its capital, A special food they eat, A special clothing they wear, A special holiday and another interesting fact about that country.
I learnt how to add audio onto slides with a cool app called Cloud audio recorder. I also learnt how to link sites to images on slides so if you click it it'll take you somewhere about the image. You can link things on images by going on the thing you want to link then copy and pasting the words in the search bar, then you click the image and then Ctrl K and Ctrl V and apply it!
I found it easy to use the voice recorder and make sure every word was clear so the person listening can understand everything I was saying. I also found it easy to look for information on google to give the reader more information about the country.
In the beginning I found it challenging to find a good video to link onto our special holiday for the country. Me and my partner looked through a lot of videos until we finally found one that we thought was good. Then we were having trouble on how to link it to the image. Once we had found out we instantly did it because it turned out to be so easy! Another thing that was hard was trying to fit all of the images and audio onto one slide so it didn't look to packed.
I really enjoyed finding interesting facts with my partner, It made it so much easier with two brains! And i enjoyed using Cloud audio recorder and learning how to use it and attach my voice onto slides.
Next time I might have to add more information into the recordings so the reader or listener would learn more information about Spain and their culture. Also next time I might try and add more information to teach the reader more about this amazing country!

Spring writing 💐
We were learning about writing very descriptive information about what the best parts about spring to us. I found it easy to use an online thesaurus to find better vocab for words that could be more descriptive. I found it challenging to change all my level 1 and 2 words to make it more specific so I can achieve a better standard. Next time I think I will add more level 3 adjectives so I can be on a higher standard and I can increase my spring vocabulary.

My Smiley face gif
We were learning how to make a gif using piskel. I found it easy to add all of the different shapes and colors. I found it challenging to add all the different movements so my smiley face can move around. I enjoyed using a new gif app to make my own gif. Next time I might add more things into my piskel so its more detailed.
Have a Heart Powtoon!! 💙
We were learning how to make a powtoon about one of our REACH values. I found it easy to think of a powtoon about the REACH value have a heart. I found it challenging to find the right backgrounds for the playground scenes. I enjoyed being able to choose what REACH value I could make a powtoon about. Next time I might choose a different/harder REACH value so I can challenge myself more.

My sunflower research question 🌻
We were learning about sunflowers so we had to write a research question about sunflowers. I found it easy to research my question in google and then write it down on slides. I found it challenging to think of a question I wanted to find out the answer to about sunflowers. I enjoyed finding out how much water a sunflower needs per day so I can care better for my sunflower. Next time I might think of another question so I can learn more about sunflowers.
